The Double Bay Compost Bin

- Treated Timber
- No Tools Needed
Introducing our Double Bay Compost Bins, the perfect solution for gardeners with medium to large-sized gardens who need extra space for compostable materials. Made from 100% treated wood, these bins not only blend seamlessly into your garden with their natural, rustic appearance but also provide double the composting area compared to our standard single bins.
Designed for gardens where the lawn is cut with a petrol-driven push mower or a ride-on mower, our double compost bin is ideal if it takes you over an hour to cut the grass. And if you find that this size isn't enough, you can easily add additional bays with our convenient Add On bay option.
This size is also popular for use in allotments, where composting materials primarily consist of plants other than grass, and for those with ample space for a composting system. Both bays are of the same width, allowing you to choose a different side. Additionally, we offer three different height options to cater to your specific needs.
When it comes to assembly, there's no need for tools as the boards simply slot into the posts. The dovetail joints ensure the bin's strength, eliminating the need for nails. Plus, you can assemble it on any level ground without the hassle of digging footings.
Of course, our double compost bin is pressure treated against rot, guaranteeing its durability and longevity. Our boards are 22-25mm thick, approximately 125mm wide. The posts are 75mm x 75mm.
Please note that it will likely be delivered on a pallet, but we will notify you in advance of its arrival.

Quality
Easy to put together- i did it one person in an hour.
Our pallet of wood arrived very promptly. The clear instructions are so simple to follow and we had the double compost bins up and running in no time. No tools are required but gentle use of a mallet speeded up the process and they look wonderful.
Thank you - we are so pleased you like the Bins.
Ordered and arrived within days. Assembled in minutes. Simple to assemble no tools required - just some levelling . The timber is treated and should last a long time.
I cannot fault this compost bin. The gentleman I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful and the bin arrived so promptly, and at a time to suit me. It was very well packed, the timber looks very durable, and was assembled by my grandson very quickly. There is enough play on the joints to enable panels to be slid out when the compost is ready to use. As long as your site has been made perfectly level there is nothing that could go wrong with this bin-it is brilliant.

The Most Popular!
This is a our most popular bin as it is ideally suited to most gardens. You can fill one bay whilst the other bay is breaking down the contents. This process tends to take longer than you think! Plus our modular design means you can add extra bays as required. Our Add On kit will give you the ability to increase the capacity. You can add as many bays as needed.
Wood or Plastic?
Air and water are needed to allow the bugs, funghi and enzymes to break down the contents of the bin. A wooden bin allows them to breathe and reproduce. A plastic bin, which tends to be sealed, causes them to suffocate and the high water content results in a slimy mess rather than a friable compost.
Our timber is either FSC or PEFC certified by our supplier. It is fully pressure treated to offer protection against wood-boring insects and fungal decay.
No Nails or Screws
Put away the drill as it's not needed. Slide the boards into the posts and you're half way there. The dovetail joint provides the strength to hold the bay together whilst allowing boards to be moved up and out for easy access. You won't need any nails at all.
As long as the ground is fairly level you're ready to get started. Typical assembly time for a Double Bay Bin is about 20 minutes.
